Toronto has a reputation for being a vibrant culinary destination. But with hundreds of restaurants available, where do you start to find its best food and drink offerings?

Comedy Food Tours, an up-and-coming local company, dishes up something different. It boosts the entertainment value of its over one dozen tours by having them led by professional comedians.

Along with a hefty helping of laughs, participants enjoy an expertly-curated experience as they nibble and sip at top restaurants. It’s a new way to discover the best of the city’s neighbourhoods, from Chinatown to Roncesvalles.

The comedian was informative and funny. And the food was amazing!

Audrey Madrano

Toronto resident Audrey Madrano booked the 90-minute Taste of Spadina Food Tour. Though familiar with the area, she left with a new appreciation of what it offered. “We got a great background story and history of the restaurants,” notes Madrano. “The comedian was informative and funny. And the food was amazing!”

Her guide, Dan O’Neill, took an interactive approach, asking guests where they came from and what they did for a living. “He improvised jokes on the spot,” Madrano recalls. “It was like being at a comedy club. He made the tour amazing and unique.”

Comedy Food Tours aims to reveal Toronto’s best kept secrets to both locals and visitors. Madrano heard more behind its graffiti history and attractions. “It was refreshing to learn new information where you weren’t bored to tears by a tour guide,” she explains. “We were laughing the whole time.”
